Finding UsPecan Park Retreat is difficult to find without a map and/or driving instructions. Signage is woefully inadequate. Every driver in your group should have a copy of our map and driving instructions. We have included several formats of our map for your convenience. Don't be confused: There are two campgrounds with the name Pecan Park. Our new neighbors have an RV park called Pecan Park Campground. If you are looking for a full-fledged RV park with full hookups, paved pads, and an indoor swimming pool, you need to visit their site or give them a call: 512-396-0070. MS Word format map Driving DirectionsComing from Houston on IH 10: Take the second Luling exit (the San Marcos Exit). The highway number is State Highway 80. Head toward the town of San Marcos (North on Hwy 80). (Warning: as you go through Luling, be careful to stay on Hwy 80, to do so involves taking a left turn several blocks after crossing the railroad tracks in downtown Luling.) Approximately 15 miles from Luling you will pass through the little town of Martindale. Martindale is a known speed trap, slow down! Make a note of your odometer reading as you pass the first flashing yellow light in Martindale (the light is at the intersection of Hwy 80 and Hwy 142). It is approximately 3.8 miles from this intersection to County Road 101. Turn left onto 101 (there is an Historical Marker on the right side of Hwy 80 at this intersection). After turning onto CR 101, take an immediate left onto County Road 102 (it is less than 100 yards from Hwy 80 to CR102). Note: County Road 102 runs parallel to Hwy 80, and intersects 80 approximately one mile back toward Martindale. If you arrive in the daylight, you may turn left onto CR 102 off Hwy 80, but it is a difficult turn to see in the dark. (The Wolf Creek RV Park office is located on 102, just off Hwy 80). From either direction, it is approximately 1/2 mile from Hwy 80 to Pecan Park Dr. Turn onto Pecan Park Dr. It is about 1/4 mile to the Pecan Park Campground RV office (the white building on your left) and TG Canoe Livery (the white building on your right). Go past both of these buildings and follow the blacktop road around the left turn and to the Pecan Park Retreat Gate. To get to the campground go through the gate and down the hill. To get to our office, take a right before going through the gate and follow the dirt road to the wooden house with the "office " sign on the front door. Only the person who has the money and/or the person who will sign our form assuming responsibility for the group needs to come to our office. The rest of the group is welcome to head straight down the hill to set up camp. Coming from Austin or San Antonio on IH 35: Take exit number 205, this is the Luling exit. Head South on Hwy 80 toward Luling. Go one and eight tenths (1.8) miles from IH 35 and then take a right onto County Road 101. Take an immediate left at the first intersection you come to onto CR 102. Then go one half (1/2) mile and take a right at Pecan Park Dr. Now follow the instructions in the paragraph above. |
